Escribo
estas líneas con la convicción de que cuando el 7 de octubre se
inaugure la Exposición Mundial de Filatelia España 2006, asistiremos
a una gran Exposición. Y lo digo, no sólo porque conozco la ilusión
de los expositores y sigo de cerca el trabajo del Comité Organizador,
de los comisarios nacionales y de los equipos de FESOFI y de FIP, sino porque
cuando todo el mundo de la filatelia se une en torno a un gran proyecto y las
instituciones públicas lo respaldan, el éxito está casi
asegurado.
Antes de que llegue esa
fecha, la Exposición Mundial de Filatelia estará abierta a todos
a través de www.lamardesellos.com. una web que a lo largo de los próximos
meses ampliará sus contenidos hasta convertirse en una verdadera exposición
virtual que anticipe cuanto sucederá en Málaga y que permitirá
vivir en tiempo real lo que esté aconteciendo en la Exposición.
Una web que por su magnitud está avocada a ser un referente para los
que se acercan a la filatelia española como simples curiosos, como principiantes
o como coleccionistas ya asentados. Su estructura, dinámica y abierta
a la participación, ofrece un escaparate para que quienes no puedan visitar
Málaga en esas fechas vivan la Exposición como si estuvieran allí.
Así pues, España
2006 apuesta por un estilo diferente e innovador, por una Exposición
abierta a la calle, abierta a todos. Su instalación en una impresionante
arquitectura efímera de cristal conseguirá llevar los mejores
tesoros filatélicos a los espacios urbanos donde cada día se encuentran
los malagueños. El espacio expositivo se racionaliza con las nuevas vitrinas
en árbol con cristal de seguridad y con un mobiliario específicamente
concebido para la ocasión, que permitirá ahorrar hasta el 50%
de la superficie.
Albergo la esperanza de
que, cuando el 13 y el 15 de octubre cierren sus puertas la Exposición
y la Feria Comercial, los rostros de visitantes, expositores y organizadores

am writing these lines with the conviction that when the World Philatelic Exhibition
ESPAÑA 06 opens on October 7th, we will be attending a great Exhibition.
And I say this not only because I know the enthusiasm of the exhibitors and
closely follow the work of the Organising Committee, national organisers and
FESOFI and FIP teams but also because when the whole stamp-collecting world
comes together for a great project backed by public institutions, success is
almost guaranteed.
Before that date finally
arrives, the World Philatelic Exhibition will be open to everyone via www./amardesellos.com.
a website that over coming months will expand its content to become a true virtual
exhibition in anticipation of events in Ma/aga and that will allow the world
to experience what is happening at the Exhibition in real time. A website that,
due to its size, is destined to be a reference for all those with an interest
in Spanish philately, whether as beginners or as long-established collectars.
its dynamic structure that is apen to participation affers a window so that
thase who cannot visit Ma/aga an these dates can experience the Exhibition as
if they were really there.
Therefore, España
2006 is going far a different, innovative style, for an Exhibition that opens
onto the street, that is open to everyane. Its installation within impressive,
ephemera/, glass architecture will bring the best philatelic treasures to urban
spaces frequented on a daily basis by Ma/aga's residents. The exhibition space
is streamlined with new tree-shaped display cases made from safety glass and
furniture that has been specifically designed for the occasion, which will allow
a saving of up to 50% in surface area.
I hope that, when the
Exhibition and Commercial Fair close on October 13th and 15th, the faces of
visitors, exhibitors and y organisers will reflect the true pride felt by someone
whose expectations have been generously met.

Tengo
el honor de dirigirme, una vez más, a la gran familia filatélica,
como Director de Filatelia de Correos, con el propósito de invitarles
a participar en ella.
La Exposición
Mundial de Filatelia, que tendrá lugar en Málaga durante los días
7 al 13 de octubre del año 2006, vuelve a estar promovida, como las anteriores
celebradas en nuestro país durante las últimas tres décadas,
por la Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos S.A., en colaboración
con la Federación Española de Sociedades Filatélicas (FESOFI),
y con el patrocinio de Federación Internacional de Filatelia (FIP).
El marco elegido
en esta ocasión para celebrar este magno acontecimiento filatélico,
es Málaga, ciudad cultural y de ocio, que acogerá en carpas climatizadas
y acristaladas, además de los stands institucionales y comerciales, distintas
exposiciones monográficas, la Corte de Honor y las colecciones que compiten
en las distintas clases de filatelia, entre las que figurarán algunas
de las más prestigiosas del mundo. Correos es consciente de que la manera
más fácil de llegar a la sociedad, es adentrarse en ella. De ahí
que opte para estas grandes exposiciones por los espacios públicos.
La cultura, la tradición
y la modernidad, conceptos y temas siempre presentes en la filatelia, acaparan
pleno protagonismo en los 3.000 cuadros expositores de esta muestra que ocupará
unos 25.000 metros cuadrados. A los espacios expositivos se unen los stands
modulares y de diseño, destinados a comerciantes filatélicos y
administraciones postales extranjeras.
Es mi deseo que
esta Exposición Mundial de Filatelia España 06, sirva de punto
de encuentro de los máximos representantes de las organizaciones, nacionales
e internacionales, que conforman el mundo de la filatelia, pero que, también,
la muestra sea un espacio donde se den cita los coleccionistas, amantes del
sello y el público en general, disfrutando de los sellos y participando
en las actividades programadas en el marco de España 06.
Málaga, ciudad
andaluza y mediterránea, internacional y hospitalaria, convertida en
la capital mundial del sello acogerá del 7 al 13 de octubre, con los
brazos abiertos, a los visitantes de la Exposición Mundial de Filatelia
España 06.

have once again the great honour of addressing the large philatelic family as
Director of Philately of Correos for the España 06 World Philatelic Exhibition
in order to invite you all to take part.
The World Philatelic
Exhibition, which will take place in Malaga from the 7th to the 13th of October
2006, is again sponsored, as in earlier editions held in our country during
the last three decades, by the Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos
S.A. (Spanish Post) in collaboration with the Federación Española
de Sociedades Filatélicas (FESOFI- Spanish Federation of Philatelic Associations)
and the support of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie
(FIPInternational
Philately Federation).
The place chosen
to hold this macro philatelic event on this occasion is Malaga, a cultural and
leisure city where air conditioned glass marquees will be set up to holds not
only the institutional and commercial stands, but also different monographic
exhibitions, the Court of Honour and the collections competing in different
philatelic classes, amongst which are some of the most prestigious in the world.
Correos is aware that the easiest way to reach society is to become part of
it – and this is why it holds these large exhibitions in public spaces.
The ever-present
philatelic concepts and themes of culture, tradition and modernity will play
a major role in the 3,000 picture displays in this exhibition, covering around
25,000 square metres. As well as the exhibition spaces, there are also modular
and design stands for dealers and foreign postal administrations.
I would like the
España 06 World Philatelic Exhibition to serve as a meeting point for
the highest representatives from the national and international organisations
that form part of the world of philately, but that it also becomes an area where
collectors, stamp-lovers and the general public come together to enjoy stamps
and participate in the activity programme set up for España 06.
The Andalusian and
Mediterranean city of Malaga, with its international reputation for hospitality,
will become the world stamp capital from the 7th to the 13th of October, welcoming
with open arms all visitors of España 06 World Philatelic Exhibition.

Cuando
todavía no se han apagado los ecos de la Exposición Mundial de
Filatelia celebrada en Valencia en el año 2004, ya estamos trabajando
en España 06, que celebraremos en el próximo octubre en la mediterránea
ciudad de Málaga.
España, cuenta
con numerosas ciudades capaces de acoger una Exposición Mundial de Filatelia.
Bien es verdad que la tradición señala que éstas se celebrasen
en las capitales de los Estados, o a lo sumo en la segunda ciudad de los mismos.
Pero en España hemos podido comprobar que otras ciudades más pequeñas
son capaces de acoger manifestaciones filatélicas y culturales de éste
tipo. Granada, Sevilla, Salamanca y Valencia han sido claro exponente de su
éxito. Ahora lo intentamos en Málaga, y estamos seguros que la
acogida y el interés de sus gentes no desmerecerá en nada del
lo sucedido en las anteriormente citadas. Así lo ha entendido el Correo
español, que en la línea en que venimos trabajando ha entendido
también que hemos de llevar la filatelia a la calle. Que los sellos y
la historia postal de un país, de nuestra España, hemos de ponerlos
al servicio y para el conocimiento de todos los ciudadanos.
Málaga debe
ser también el lugar de unión y el punto de encuentro para los
filatelistas de los países mediterráneos bañados por el
mar de nuestros antepasados comunes: fenicios, griegos, romanos,... que nos
dejaron como herencia culturas y civilizaciones.
Málaga debe
dar también al mundo filatélico la oportunidad de abrirse a las
nuevas formas de coleccionismo que poco a poco se van abriendo paso: la clase
abierta, la clase un cuadro,....

Even
though the echoes from the World Philately Exhibition held in Valencia in 2004
have not yet ceased to resound, we are already working on España 06,
which will be held next October in the Mediterranean city of Malaga.
Although tradition
dictates World Philately Exhibitions are held in State capitals or, at the most,
in the second city, Spain has many cities able to hold these events. Here we
have been able to show that other smaller cities are capable of holding philatelic
and cultural events of this type: Granada, Seville, Salamanca and Valencia have
clearly and successfully demonstrated this fact. We are now going to try with
Malaga, certain in the knowledge that the welcome and interest of the people
will not be at all unworthy of what was experienced in the aforementioned cities.
Correos (The Spanish Post) has also seen it this way – they also understand
that philately must be taken onto the streets, something we have been working
on up to now. The stamps and postal history of a country, of Spain, must be
put to the service of the public at large and be known by all.
Malaga should also
be a place for everyone to come together, a meeting place for philatelists from
other Mediterranean countries that have been bathed by the same sea of our forefathers:
the Phoenicians, the Greeks, the Romans… ancient societies that bequeathed
us cultures and civilisations.
Furthermore, Malaga
should also provide the philatelic world with the opportunity of opening up
to new ways of stamp collecting that, little by little, are making inroads:
open class, picture class…

Dealers (ANFIL).
Nos
encontramos ante el anuncio de una nueva edición de la manifestación
filatélica más importante de cuantas pueda celebrar un país,
una Exposición Mundial de Filatelia. Afrontamos con expectación
y confianza el reto que para todos los organismos implicados representa una
celebración de esta magnitud.
El desarrollo de
la Filatelia en cualquier lugar tiene cuatro puntos de asiento: la Administración,
Correos, los coleccionistas y los comerciantes. Todos debemos caminar juntos,
compatibilizando nuestros objetivos y nuestros puntos de vista en pro del fin
que a todos nos atañe: la Filatelia. Es nuestra tarea mantener el interés
del coleccionista. Es nuestra ilusión atraer nuevos aficionados a la
gran familia filatélica. Si los coleccionistas disfrutan viendo las magnificas
colecciones que, sin duda, se expondrán, nos sentiremos plenamente satisfechos.
Si, en nuestra zona comercial, logran encontrar aquello que necesitan para mejorar
las suyas propias, doblemente felices. Si logramos iniciar en nuestro mundillo
a nuevos coleccionistas, habremos triunfado plenamente.
El comercio ha estado
presente en todas las ediciones precedentes, apoyando en la medida de nuestras
fuerzas. Colaborando en todo aquello para lo que se nos ha requerido. Cuidando,
especialmente, que la Feria Comercial Internacional, que siempre acompaña
estas exhibiciones, estuviera a la altura de las circunstancias.
Estaremos presentes,
en el otoño malagueño de 2006, procurando que la representación
comercial española cumpla como corresponde y que todos nuestros colegas
de otros países se sientan a gusto entre nosotros. Haciendo Filatelia,
entre todos. Correos rinde al Sello, con esta Exposición, un nuevo
homenaje. Por su parte, este trozo de papel lleno de Arte y Cultura, devuelve
el favor agradecido, siendo la mejor imagen corporativa que cualquier empresa
o institución pudiese desear. El sello y la Filatelia evocan intuitivamente
el buen hacer de Correos. Conscientes de ello, han optado por una formula diferente.
No va a ser el público el que se acerque a nosotros, va a ser el sello,
las colecciones, Correos y los comerciantes lo que saldremos a la calle a buscar
a los ciudadanos.
En esta primera
toma de contacto con los filatelistas a través de este primer boletín
quiero, en nombre de ANFIL, o lo que es lo mismo, de los comerciantes filatélicos
de toda España, a los cuales tengo el honor de representar, enviar a
todos un entusiasta saludo.

We
are presently looking forward to the new edition of the most important philatelic
event that may be held in a country: a World Philatelic Exhibition. We are eagerly
and confidently awaiting this challenge, which an event of this importance represents
for all the organisations involved.
The development
of Philately in any place has four fundamental parts: the Administration, the
Post Office, the collectors and the dealers; all of these must stand together,
making our aims and points of view compatible in support of what matters to
us all: Philately. It is our job to uphold the collector’s interest and
our pleasure to welcome new aficionados into the large philatelic family. If
collectors enjoy viewing the marvellous collections that will undoubtedly be
on display, we will feel completely satisfied. If they are able to find what
they need to improve their own collections in the commercial arena, we will
have completely triumphed.
Commerce has been
present in all previous editions, offering support to the best of our abilities.
We have collaborated
on everything asked of us, and taken special care that the International Commercial
Fair, which always runs alongside these
exhibitions, rises to the occasion.
During the autumn
of 2006 we shall be in Malaga - making sure that the Spanish commercial representatives
fulfil expectations as is due, and that all our colleagues from other countries
feel at home with us. Stamp collecting for everyone! With this Exhibition, Correos
(the Post Office) is paying a new homage to the stamp. For its part, this Art
and Culture-filled piece of paper will return the favour, being the best corporate
image any company or institution could wish for. Stamps and Philately intuitively
inspire Correos’ best work, and conscious of this fact, they have opted
for a new formula. It will not be the public that comes up to us but rather
the stamp, the collections, Correos and the dealers who will go out onto the
streets in search of the public.
With this first
point of contact with philatelists in this first bulletin, I would like to send
an enthusiastic greeting to everyone in the name of ANFIL or, what amounts to
the same thing, of stamp dealers – who I have the honour of representing
– from around Spain.

Del
7 al 13 de octubre de 2006, la Federación Española de Sociedades
Filatélicas, junto con la Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos,
S.A. organizarán en Málaga España 06, bajo patrocinio de
la FIP. Una vez más España organiza una exposición mundial,
y estoy seguro que alcanzará el alto nivel de las numerosas Exposiciones
FIP anteriores celebradas en este país en las últimas décadas.
España 06
construirá puentes entre los filatelistas de todo el mundo y también
entre la filatelia y otras aficiones que querríamos combinar con el coleccionismo
de sellos. Lo mismo que los puentes conectan diferentes países, la filatelia
crea nuevas relaciones humanas y profundiza las amistades existentes. Los filatelistas
del mundo entero se reunirán en España sin distinción de
nacionalidades, razas, religiones o creencias.
Los filatelistas
son todos miembros de la gran familia de los coleccionistas de sellos que siempre
están buscando los ejemplares más raros y muestran en sus colecciones
que el coleccionismo de sellos es una de las aficiones más interesantes,
una parte de la vida cultural de un país.
Agradezco a todos
los Comisarios Nacionales por el trabajo que ya han efectuado para España
06, y a todos los miembros del Comité Organizador de la Exposición,
con los que he tenido hasta ahora una cooperación muy amistosa y fructífera.
Deseo desde ahora
un éxito muy grande a España 06 y, como Consultor de la FIP, espero
poder dar la bienvenida a filatelistas y a no-filatelistas de todo el mundo
en la Exposición.

October 7 to 13, 2006, the Spanish Federation of Philatelic Societies together
with the Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos, S.A. will organise España
06 in Malaga under the patronage of FIP. Once more Spain organises a World Exhibition,
and I am sure it will reach the high standard of the numerous previous FIP exhibitions
held in this country the last decades.
España 06
will build bridges between the philatelists from all over the world and also
between philately and other hobbies, which we would like to combine with stamp
collecting. As bridges connect different countries, philately creates new human
relations and deepens existing friendships. The philatelists of the whole world
will gather in Spain, with no distinction of nations, races, religions and convictions.
Philatelists are
all members of the big family of the stamp collectors who are always looking
and searching for very rare item, and they show with their exhibits that stamp
collecting is one of the most interesting hobbies, a part of the cultural life
of a country.
I thank all the
national commissioners for the work they have already accomplished for España
06, and all the members of the Organising Committee of the exhibition, with
whom I had up to now a very friendly and fruitful cooperation.
I wish already now
España 06 a very great success and, as FIP-Consulter, I hope to be able
to welcome philatelists and non-philatelists from all over the world at the
exhibition.
