Our Mission
St George’s objectives (“mission statement”) are defined in its statues as follows:
“The principal objective of this Church is to worship God and to serve him before all men, adhering to the precepts and guides contained within the Holy Scriptures.
The specific objectives are, although they are not limited to, the following:
- To honour and worship God and preach his Word in public worship.
- To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ using all the means of communication available to the Church.
- To help all the Church's members in their spiritual development.
- To teach and instruct in the understanding of the Holy Scriptures and in the religious beliefs proclaimed by this Church to all those who voluntarily wish to receive such instruction.
- To help any human beings who wish to receive it, fulfilling the Christian obligation, attempting to help in the development of their personality and responding to any physical, material or spiritual needs that they may have, within the means and possibilities available to this Church.
- To establish new centres of worship with the prior authorisation of the Bishop.
- To exercise Christian charity in accordance with the mandates of the Gospel.
- To provide fraternal communion and collaboration in Christian service with other Christian Churches and institutions.”
