Type
1 – Gauntry
speedtraps
(speedcams
in informative panels) Speedtrap, commonly known in Spain as radar, installed at a gauntry, usually at the rear side of an information panel. Please, keep an eye on two/three cameras group, as well as on flash + box (with the measure device and the camera), or the box including all the elements. In case a single camera is installed, is quite probable the device is not a radar, but simply aimed to traffic control & surveillance: Type 1A (MULTANOVA-6F model) This model is also installed in booths (Type 2A) and hidden vehicles (Type 7A). The radar frecuency is 34.3 Ghz
Type 1B (RAI-2002 model) This model can also be installed in booths (Type 2B). The radar frecuency is 35.5 Ghz This model has two or three cameras, one of them targeting the floor:
Type 1C (RAI-2002 model, in box) This is the same model than Type 1B, but enclosed in a Three horizontal holes box:
Type 1D
(SPEEDCURB
in porch model) This speedtrap model is the one used in Andorra (Yellow box) and Spain (Catalonia, grey camouflage box). Due to the fact it measures speed by means of induction bands buried under the asphalt, they are undetectable, so they become dangerous elements; however, as well as all fixed speedtraps, they are easy to be localized by GPS spots. There is also a version on posts:
Type 1E (CIRANO-500 in porch model) This model can also be installed in booths (Type 2C) It has two little windows. Take notice they are vertically disposed, and of different size. The radar frecuency is 34.3 Ghz
Type 1F (RAMET in porch model) This model can also be installed in booths (Type 2D) It has also two little windows, but take notice of difference between Type 1E model and this one. The radar frecuency is 34.3 Ghz
Type 1G This model was once installed on 2006, at A-1 road, km 37 heading Madrid, and nowadays uninstalled. We are not sure if it is really a speedtrap, but it looks like.
Type 1H This model was once installed at the road N-550, passing nearby Santiago de Compostela and Puente de A Rocha, and nowadays uninstalled. The exact model is unknown, as well as its purpose, but it was known to have laser emision.
