Enable
RADAR POI warnings
1.-
Enter the menu and go to
.

2.-
First, select RADAR POI category (all of them start by
ES_R...)
3.-
If you still haven’t installed voices, you’ll be given the option to select one.
You can test the one you like. If you’ve already
installed the RADAR voices, this option won’t be presented to you. That’s
normal. Please take the OGG file having the same name as the chosen category.
4.-
Select the distance of warning, adequate to the
relevant category speed. As an advice I show you the ones I use. They allow
driving fast but do not require braking at the time you’re given a warning:

In the next screen, DO NOT TICK the box "Warn
only if POI in route". Let me explain. If you tick this box, TomTom will only
warn you if you have defined a route, and just in case the RADAR POI is in your
way. So, if you haven’t programmed a route, or the RADAR POI is not very well
located, you’ll have to swallow a tasty fine. Better
some warnings more than needed than some euros less in your pocket.
6.-
Repeat the previous steps with any remaining
categories you want TomTom to warn you about. And NO, this cannot be done
at once. You’ll have to do it one by one. The positive point is you’ll only have
to do it first time you install POIs.
For updates you’ll only replace the OV2 files.
As
a summary, I have attached an animation illustrating the process, courtesy of my
chap
