Hallo Freunde der Lüfte,

da hatte ich erwartet, dass ich nach der "harten Landung" in Algodonales von der spanischen Luft die Nase voll habe. Aber ein dosiertes Fahrradtraining hat meinen Fuß schnell wieder gesunden lassen. Daher konnte ich zwei Freunden aus Bamberg nach Alicante folgen. Eine Woche für 360 €uro (incl. Betreuung, Appartment und Mietwagen) und ein preiswerte Flüge (140€uro) brachte das Budget soeben noch her.

Dabei waren Abstriche bei der Flugbetreuung zu erwarten - denn wer hatte schon mal etwas von einem fliegenden Belgier - und dann noch aus Flandern - gehört. Aber genau der Typ namens Nick Polet erwies sich als der Hit für den Flugerfolg in der ganzen Woche. Starkwind am Samstag folgte eine problematische Wetterkostellation, die von Nick hervorragend gemeistert wurde.

Wir erlebten nun täglich erstaunliche Flüge - die im wesentlichen dynamisch zustande kamen. Aber auch thermische Einlagen - für den Monat Dezember erstaunlich - konnten wir geniessen. Startgelände (z.T. mit Kunstrasen) und erstaunlich große Landeflächen waren absolut o.k. Und immer wieder das große Erstaunen, wenn wir mal wieder skeptischnunserem "belgischen Riesen" folgten welchen Flugchancen sich uns boten.

Leider schwappte das Scheisswetter am Samstag über die Pyrenäen, so dass Starkwind und Regen die Heimreise leichter machte. Schaut mal unter - doyouwanna paragliding - hier gibt es aktuelle Eindrücke.

Fazit: es geht auch im Dezember, und es muss nicht immer Algodonales sein. Ich habe mir für 2010 - dann allerdings Sept. / Okt. - Alicante vorgemerkt.

Thanks for a fantastic week last week, Pete, Paul and myself had the 'BEST' time ever, flying more hours than we could do in a month back in the UK.

Returned to work on monday morning, which was a bit of a shock! Haha. have just looked at the brilliant photos on the blogg and wished i was back out in Spain !

have some fantastic memories of our time with 'doyouwanna' and will definitely be coming back again ( Nick, we are at

It was the most interesting holiday I’ve ever had! No-one will believe me when I explain everything that happened! Thanks for the photo, my wife thought it was me but wasn’t sure. The French Flying Chickens might be 7 next year as I’ve already shown my neighbour most the vid’s and photo’s I have and has already told his wife he is having a paraholiday next year. 7 Chickens, can doyouwanna cope with 7 chickens????

Hallo Nick en Kath,

De week in Santa Pola was er 1 die ik niet snel zal vergeten je komt
echt in een andere wereld vergeleken met de Amsterdamse stress waar ik
meestal in vertoef.
De fantastische sites, de relaxte sfeer en het weer waren perfecte
ingrediënten om er een zeer geslaagde vliegvakantie van te maken. Op de
Cabo Santa Pola heerlijk kunne vliegen en..... top landingen maken 8-) .
Als ik heel eerlijk ben dan is er daar maar 1 puntje van kritiek, de dog
shit maar daar kunnen jullie op dit moment niet veel aan doen.

Ik ben Nick erg dankbaar voor zijn geduld en ongecompliceerde manier om
mij te wijzen op mijn fouten maar nog beter hij vertelde mij exact wat
ik moest doen om deze fouten te corrigeren. Hierdoor is mijn rugstart
met minstens 100% verbeterd :-D
Mijn excuses als ik je bij Reconco heb laten schrikken, ik schrok er
zelf ook wel behoorlijk van, gelukkig allemaal goed afgelopen.

Als het mogelijk is zou ik je willen vragen of je misschien nog foto's
hebt van mij (oranje swing met een witte baan en blauwe front edge) dat
zou leuk zijn.

Ontzettend bedankt voor de fijne week die vooral door jullie
enthousiasme mij nog lang bij zal blijven.

Once again, thank you for the great guiding around Alicante.

Rested two days - But today we drove one hour south from Munich.

Had a great flight, but as you see, it's a bit colder than in Alicante.
