Where are we?
Los Arcos is a beautiful
villa near the pretty inland town of La Nucia. It's close to the
coastal towns and beaches of Altea (8km), Albir (5km) and Benidorm (5km).
The nearest airport is Alicante
(about 60km). Murcia (140km) and Valencia (150km) are also possible as you
can see on this
map of the region.
The
A7/E15 motorway runs along the coast, as does the N332, from Alicante
to Valencia as you can see on this
map of the Costa Blanca.
On the
La Nucia Tourism site which will load
from the link,
click on SITUACION which will take you to two local
maps. Click on AMPLIAR to enlarge the images. The villa
is located next to the CV70, roughly half way between Benidorm and La
Nucia on the left map. On the right map, it is just by the seventh
roundabout coming from Benidorm.

By air:
The nearest airport is
Alicante (about 60km). Murcia (120km) and Valencia (150km) are also
possible as you can see on this
map of the region. By car on the highway, Alicante is just under an hour's
drive, Murcia takes two hours and Valencia about the same. The following
sites have basic information about Alicante and Valencia airports. The
one for Murcia has very little information, so we haven't included it.

Car rental: There are details of car
rental companies on the airport sites. We have experience of the two below and
can recommend them. You can pick up a car
at Alicante or Valencia airports.

By bus:
From Alicante or
Valencia city bus stations there are regular bus services to Benidorm.
In January 2004 the Alsa bus company introduced a new service directly
from Alicante Airport (bus stop 29-30) to the bus station in Benidorm
(Avenida Europa 8). The trip takes an hour and a quarter and costs 6
euros each way. The latest timetable we have is: Alicante Airport to
Benidorm at 10.30, 14.30, 17.30 and 21.30; then Benidorm to Alicante
Airport at 08.00, 12.00, 17.15 and 20.00.
Otherwise, from
both airports you would need to get a local bus into the city bus
station, and then a bus to Benidorm. At Alicante Airport, the C6 bus
runs about every 45 minutes from bus stop 30. The fare is about 1
euro, and the trip takes about 40-50 minutes. The
Alsa bus company runs regular services between either Alicante or
Valencia and Benidorm. You can see the timetables and fares on their
website and book on line if you wish.
From
Benidorm, there’s a regular bus service to La Nucia, Polop and
Callosa. The buses leave from the Avenida Europa bus station, always
going up the hill outside the large green shopping centre on the
right as you walk up the hill from Avenida Mediterraneo. Tickets are
available from the Alsa ticket kiosk on the ground floor inside the
shopping centre. Ask for a ticket to Panorama, which costs €0.85.
The ticket will show the time of the next bus. Ask the bus driver
for Supermercado La Nucia. There’s about one bus an hour, but
intervals vary through the day.

By taxi: There
are taxis available at the airport just outside the terminal. The fare
to La Nucia is about 60 euros one way. It is also possible to book one
in advance through
www.shuttledirect.com (who also run
shared minibus transport). This must be booked at least 48 hours in
advance.
-
By minibus:
There is a private minibus company running from the airport to
Benidorm. We haven't tried this ourselves, but you may like to
investigate. You'll find it at
www.shuttledirect.com.
This must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
