On saturday, february 5, 2000, members of the Grup de Recerca i Conservació del Patrimoni del Centre Excursionista de Súria, with the contribution of members of GESEART (Grup Empordančs de Salvaguarda i Estudi de l'Arquitectura Rural i Tradicional) made a copy of the engravings on the capstone of the megalith of the Tres Tossals. The copy was made using techniques developped by GESEART, which has applied them with success in many ocassions on engravings on the dolmens and menhirs in the Empordŕ district.

The procedure consists in first delimiting clearly the borders of the lines and cup-marks on the stone with chalk. In this phase it's very important that all the people there "see the same" drawing. After this a great sheet of transparent plastic is put covering the slab and, with a permanent marker, the lines of chalk and the border of the slab are copied onto the sheet. Finally, the north and the scale are drew on the sheet. After that, the plastic sheet is photographed, scanned and vectorized. From this point on one can get copies at any scale of the drawings. Two 1:1 copies on plastic were done. One of them is in the hands of GESEART and the other is hold by CES.

All the people that participed in the work remarked the importance and beauty of these engravings and the fact that would be necessary to think some way to protect them.
