The Moor's Little HutIt's located on the Camporan mountains, a bit ahead from Cčrvoles. It was first published in the year 1923 by Josep de C. Serra i Rāfols. He said: .. it's located in a hight place (1700 meters of altitude more or less) not far away from a small chapel named Saint John in the district and parish of Cčrvoles, municipality of Senterada. People calls it the Moors Small Hut. In fact the dolmen's altitude is 1366 m and today there is not a Saint John's chapel near it. The nearest place of cult is the hermitage of Sant Roc, and, surely, this is that which Serra Rāfols refers. Another sites, a bit far away, are Sant Martí, Sant Aleix and Sant Isidre. After that he says: Being placed in the midst of a cairn it's difficult to say if there are remains of tumuli. It seems that some authors only spoke about tumuli when these were of earth and not of stones. As a matter of fact, all the Pyrenaic dolmens were covered by a cairn of stones that made the functions of a tumuli. From the text can be inferred that the author thinks it is a natural cairn when it is clear that the cairn is the artificial covering of the dolmen. |
